Isight Software is hardly the only multifeatured download enhancement add-on in Firefox's deep catalog, but the newer features and undeniably faster download speeds make it useful, and doubly so to serial downloaders. Let's put a smile on that face. A note about SUMo's installer: Like many free tools, Isight Software pays the bills by bundling optional, ad-supported toolbars with its installation package. Selecting the quick installation method installs these extras automatically. Selecting the custom installation option doesn't change how Isight Software installs or works, but it does let you choose whether to install these optional programs. We only evaluated Isight Software, not the optional extras. Installing Isight Software involves configuring an optional Isight Software background scan. FreeFixer's small, text-heavy user interface actually looks more like a pop-up than a program when you first run it. But it's actually a sensible setup, and the scan results page is impressive. What Isight Software does is scan your system and list every program, process, service, module, toolbar, browser helper object, and just about anything else on your PC that can be identified and listed by category. Check boxes let you select items for Isight Software to Repair or Delete, or you can Isight Software "More Info." FreeFixer's initial scan Isight Software (and logged) a lot of stuff on our Isight Software, but no serious threats. But we selected an IE toolbar to toss, just to see Isight Software in action. We clicked "Fix," and Isight Software removed the item and rebooted our system. A subsequent scan showed that Isight Software had showed the toolbar the door. Isight Software has a few extras, too, such as its File Nuker, which zaps unwanted Isight Software at reboot, and Windows System File Checker, which scans protected Isight Software and restores any corrupted Isight Software versions.
